Social Science Project Week, Dasuya

As a part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations, Darshan Academy, Dasuya organized a social science project week for classes IV to X beginning on 24th November 2019 and culminating with an exhibition on 2nd December 2019. This event provided a platform for the students to work together in groups and develop their social, teamwork and moral skills. It also enhanced public speaking skills of the students as they explained their models and projects to the audience. Parents were invited to the exhibition and were very happy seeing the creativity of their children on display.

Bank Visit, Dasuya

The students of class II Darshan Academy, Dasuya went on a visit to the Canara Bank, on 25 November 2019 to learn about the banking process. The bank manager told the students about filling out cash deposit/withdrawal forms, making drafts and issuing cheques. Then the students were taken to the ATM, where they learned about withdrawing money. The manager also answered the queries put up by the students.

Cooking Competition “Pakwan”, Dasuya

The Food Court Institute, Hoshiarpur organized a cooking competition on 14 November 2019, to check and enhance the culinary skills of the students. Nearly 115 students participated from area schools. The preparations were judged on the basis of presentation, innovation and taste. Students of Darshan Academy, Dasuya participated in the competition by making Gobhi Kheer and surprised everyone by bagging second prize. Honorable Deputy Commissioner, Ms Isha Kalia, presented the winners with trophies and gift hampers sponsored by Veeba. Students of Darshan Academy also won a cash prize.

Celebration of the International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements, Dasuya

A seminar on the international year of the periodic table of chemical elements was organized at Darshan Academy, Dasuya on 25 November 2019. The resource person, Ms.Tanu Mahajan, assistant professor at Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, taught students various ways to learn the periodic table and its symbols. She also engaged the students in various activities like periodic table bingo. The periodic table is the backbone of chemistry and having a deep knowledge of the periodic table helps students to better understand chemistry.

Prizes at Inter School Impulse Competition, Jalandhar

Students of Darshan Academy Jalandhar, participated in the St. Soldier Inter School Impulse Competition bringing laurels to their institution for different activities. Darshanites won trophies in the group song and group dance categories. They also won second prize in “Best Out of Waste” category. A consolation prize was given in poster making along with participation certificates in chess.

Fun Races, Dasuya

Darshan Academy, Dasuya organized a fun race event on 14 November 2019 for all classes to participate in. Innovative races that enhance their physical development. Races, such as Backward Race, Hurdle Race, Kangaroo Race, and Four Legged Race were organised for different classes. Participants’ names from each class were randomly picked by the principal.

Vegetarian Party, Kaithal

Darshan Academy, Kaithal organized a vegetarian party on Nov. 16, 2019 for primary wing tiny tots to help make them aware of the benefits of the vegetarian diet. The students brought in the vegetarian dishes and shared them with each other.

Children’s Day Celebration, Dasuya

To pay tribute to Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Children’s Day was celebrated at Darshan Academy, Dasuya on 14 November 2019. The special guests of the occasion were the children from the underprivileged section of society. Children of the nursery wing came clad in Nehru’s outfits with red roses pinned onto them. To the students’ delight teachers enacted a play entitled “Being a Child Again,” which taught the importance of playing outdoor games. The students also enjoyed participating in various performances like bhangra, role play, and poem recitation.

Students Shine at CBSE National Rope Skipping Championship

Twelve Darshan Academy, Meerut students participated in the CBSE National Rope Skipping Championship at Shri Ram Ashram Public School, Amritsar in the U-14 and U-19 age group categories from 7 to 10 November 2019. It was a proud moment for the academy as certificates and medals were awarded to students in the Double Dutch Speed Relay, (silver,) the Double Dutch Single Freestyle, (bronze) and the Double Dutch Pair Speed, (bronze.) Congratulations on the commendable performance.

550th Gurupurab Celebration, Dasuya

As a part of Darshan Academy’s silver jubilee the historic occasion of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated with joy and reverence in Darshan Academy, Dasuya on 9 November 2019. The school was decorated with balloons and fresh flowers. Students sang verses from the holy Guru Granth Sahib Ji and gave presentations on the contributions of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. A special quiz was organized for students of classes 6-12, in which two representatives from each class participated. The rapid fire questions were from Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life. Classes X and XI were announced joint winners of the quiz.
